EVENTS

The Association provides a range of events open to members and to anyone wanting to learn more about the experience of interchurch families and other Christian traditions as well engage in ecumenism across the UK.

This site also features links to external events run by our interchurch and ecumenical partners both nationally and internationally.

If you would like more information about an Association for Interchurch Families event and cannot find it on this site please contact the office directly.

    Weekend Gathering 2024 - 12-13 October.

“Synodality – a gift for ecumenical relations?”

The theme of this year’s annual Weekend Gathering at Swanwick will be “Synodality – a gift for ecumenical relations” during which we will explore the significance of the Roman Catholic Synodality process from the perspective of other churches.  More details can be found on the attached booking form, a copy of which will also be placed on the members’ section of our website.

You will note that we have held the increase in price this year to just £2 per head, taking the total to £140 for each attendee. However, the total cost to the Association of putting on the event is some £25-£30 higher than this so, once again, AIF will be subsidising all attendees – as always, donations to help offset the subsidy would be most welcome. And don’t forget that the Bursary Fund is available to help any members who might want some financial support to attend – details of how to apply are on the booking form.

Last year a few people reported difficulties in paying the charges or donating online, and others were concerned at the mention that the online payment service is provided by PayPal.  Please note that you don’t have to pay online – we are very happy if you wish to pay by bank transfer (commonly called “BACS transfer” – the details for doing so are on the booking form) or by cheque. If you do want to use the online option, please bear in mind that PayPal is just the provider of the service allowing us to receive online payments; you don’t have to have an account with PayPal, and neither will you be added to their customer database if you use the service. They are just the “behind the scenes” software company that makes it all work (just the same as any other online payment system).

Finally, as we are now required to book for a specific number of places and to confirm our numbers in advance of the event, we cannot guarantee to accommodate late bookings, so please do book early – when all our allocated places have been allocated it is unlikely (though not impossible) that we will be able to book any additional rooms.

Please note in Person attendence is for Members only initially due to the small number of rooms - However we are running the weekend in a Hybrid Model and so attenddence Online is open to all - Registration is Essential.
