Membership

The Association of Interchurch Families provides:

a support network and information service for

  • interchurch families (where the partners belong to different denominations – usually Roman Catholic or Orthodox and another Christian communion), for partners and parents, growing children and young adults;
  • clergy, ministers, relatives, and all others concerned in the welfare
    of interchurch families;

a voice in the churches

  • by keeping the pastoral needs of interchurch families before church leaders
    and communities, at local, regional, national and international level;
    (The Association is linked with groups of interchurch families in many parts
    of the world.)
  • by affirming the gifts of interchurch families and their potential as a catalyst for wider church unity.

Members receive:

  • Issues & Reflections,  available on the internet or by post giving commentary and news on the world ecumenical scene;
  • A members newsletter;
  • The Interdependent, produced by and for interchurch children on their dedicated webpage at www.interchurchfamilies.org.uk;
  • An invitation to:
    • the weekend conference, held annually at Swanwick in Derbyshire;
    • the one-day annual meeting in London;
    • the Memorial Lecture in honour of co-founder John Coventry SJ;
    • and local group meetings, where they exist.

All these activities are founded on prayer and worship.

TO JOIN THE ASSOCIATION OF INTERCHURCH FAMILIES:

Please complete the Membership Form obtainable from the office.  The minimum membership contribution is just £15 p.a.  We wish that no interchurch couple should be kept from membership because of the cost but please give what you can to support our work.  All contributions are equally valued.

An assured annual income helps us in forward planning and means less work in sending reminders.  If you are willing to help the Association by giving regularly please also complete the Banker’s Order form with the membership application.

  • If you are a taxpayer you can ask for your contributions to be treated as Gift Aid, whether they are paid by cheque or by standing order.
  • The Gift Aid declaration can be made to cove all future giving and the Association will benefit by claiming back the tax.
  • Alternatively, if you have a Charities Aid Foundation account, you can use the CAF Standing Order form also provided with the membership application form.
