AIF 43rd ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2010
Sat 28th to Mon 30th August
(lunch to lunch inclusive)
at the Hayes Conference Centre
Swanwick, nr Alfreton Derbyshire
Interchurch Families as Prophets
There have always been Prophets working and speaking for God. Interchurch Families are called to be Prophets in the world and the churches. This weekend will be an occasion for us to explore what being a Prophet means to us. There will be opportunities to listen to the word of God and others, and opportunities for discussion, all underpinned by prayer and scripture. Some of the questions which may be explored include: What is our prophetic message? Who are the audience for the message? How will we ensure that the right people hear the message?
To help us in our exploration we will be joined by the Rt Rev Bill Ind, for 21 years until 2007 he was the Anglican Bishop of Truro; noted scholar Canon John Udris, Dean of Northampton RC Cathedral; and the Rev Keith Clements, retired Baptist Minister and former General Secretary of the Conference of European Churches (KEK) 1997 -2005. Do join us!
Who is it for?
We welcome all couples and families in an interchurch marriage, or thinking about such a marriage (usually a Roman Catholic and a Christian of another communion) and interchurch children of any age. We especially welcome clergy, ministers and all others interested in, or pastorally concerned with, interchurch families.
Children
The children will enjoy their own separate, but integrated programmes and there will be a crèche. Those aged 15 and over may elect to join the main conference or take part in the Young Adults Group (IFYAG) programme.
If you are under 18 and wish to come alone please complete a Parental Consent Form which may be obtained from the AIF Office. The Association cannot accept unaccompanied children under the age of 15. Those 15 and over who attend without their families will be required to pay the full adult cost.
Worship and prayer, as in our families, are central to the Conference. All ages are involved in the liturgy and the music. There will be celebrations in Roman Catholic, Anglican and Free Church traditions.
